Anya + Tyler | Trillium Lake Proposal
Natalie McAllister
Anya and I met back in 2014 when we were assigned to room together while studying abroad in England. Through our travels, hikes, and conversations over cups of coffee Anya has become my closest friend. We have shared a lot of really special memories, but this last summer holds one of my very favorites.
Tyler came into Anya's life in March of 2016. It didn't take long for me to realize Anya was completely in love with him. Last February Tyler told me he wanted to propose to Anya when they were in Oregon, I had yet to meet him, but I couldn't have been happier.
Anya and Tyler came to Portland to spend the week in the PNW, when I finally got to meet him. We headed up to Mount Hood to camp at Trillium Lake for the night. It has always been one of Anya's favorite places in Oregon.
We were going to head up to Timberline Lodge in the evening, but before piling in the car I suggested we go and take a few photos since the sun was setting.
I handed my camera off to get a photo with Anya, before asking to take a few of just her. I treasure this perfectly blurry moment.
With a nod our friends began recording, and Tyler took a deep breath before walking over to Anya.
Anya and Tyler met through Okcupid.com. When Tyler saw her profile one of the pictures that struck him the most was one I had taken of her; she was sitting on this very dock a couple summers ago, and now they stood there together just having decided to spend their lives together.
Anya + Tyler,
Thank you for sharing this kind of joy with me. Here's to knowing the best is yet to come.
